A member of the Duluth Teachers' Retirement Fund who is granted a documented leave of absence by the Duluth Public Schools may be eligible to continue to participate in the Association by purchasing allowable service credit for the period of leave. Members who terminate employment with the Duluth Public Schools may receive a refund of the contributions they have made to the retirement fund. This brochure explains options available to members when they leave the employment of the school district before reaching retirement age, and the consequences of taking a refund.
