As a member of the Duluth Teachers' Retirement Fund you will be entitled to benefit payments, assuming you have the required service credit. The actual benefit that you receive depends upon several factors including the amount of service credit you have accumulated, the salary you were paid, the date you were hired, and your age.

There are currently three different benefit plans. Benefit plans define at what age you may retire and receive benefits, the formula used to determine your benefit, the number of years of service credit needed to be vested, qualifications necessary to be eligible for disability benefits and other plan provisions. The plan used to determine your benefit depends on your date of hire.
